Opening reception and awards presentation set for June 7
Adelphi, Md. 鈥 May 28, 2026 鈥 The Arts Program at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) will present the 6th Biennial Maryland Regional Juried Art Exhibition (BMRE), showcasing original works by artists from Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The exhibition will be on view from May 24鈥揂ugust 9, 2026, in the UMGC Arts Program Gallery in Adelphi, Maryland.
Juried by artist Preston Sampson, BMRE celebrates the breadth of creative practice across the region, featuring some 45 works chosen from more than 450 submissions in disciplines including painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, fiber, glass, ceramics, wood, metal, photography, and mixed media. Cash prizes and other distinctions will be awarded at a June 7 opening reception, including a top prize of $5,000 for the President's Best of Show Award winner.听
鈥淭he BMRE reflects UMGC鈥檚 commitment to supporting artists and expanding access to the arts,鈥 said Eric Key, director of UMGC鈥檚 Arts Program. 鈥淭his is the sixth time UMGC has hosted the BMRE, and each exhibition brings new and exciting talents to the forefront, celebrating and rewarding excellence while strengthening connections between artists and the broader community.鈥
